Celebrate Our Journey...
As We Seek to Affirm and Live Our Mission
Throughout our long, rich history,
members of Oakland-Cambridge Presbyterian Church have sought to be faithful and
obedient disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Founded in 1846 by Reverend
William Cargen, a medical missionary born in Scotland, Oakland-Cambridge
Presbyterian Church continues to be a strong spiritual force in our community.
Through the years, the church
and its members have served the community in many ways, including providing
classroom space for the school during a time of crisis, being the first to
televise services on the local cable-access channel, delivering Meals on Wheels
to shut-ins, and providing RSVP drivers for area seniors who need help getting
to appointments.
In the years to come, we pray
that God may continue to bless us with joyous fellowship, sound leadership, and
faithful discipleship as we seek to affirm and live our mission.
Newly remodeled facilities help make the church
welcoming and accessible to all. Ramp access is through the South Street
entrance.
Our Mission... To Love All Creation Unconditionally
The center of our church life is worship.
We
gather to praise and to listen to God's
word, so we can go out into the world renewed and ready to respond.
We seek to make our service inviting, open and
accessible to all. And we reach out to our community by sharing:
v
Our worship services through local
cable channel 12
v
Our Christian Education program
v
Our facilities with groups such as
AA and the Boy Scouts
v
Our resources, love and support
with those in need in our community and beyond
It is the eternal
nature of God's unconditional love, through our witness to the resurrection,
which bonds us together as a family and helps us see how important we are to
God's plan.
We seek to demonstrate God's love to all through or worship and joyful
celebrations such as baptisms, confirmations, marriages and frequent social
events.
